To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or
- A Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) from a recognized institution.
- Licensing and Registration:
- Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
- Must hold a valid practicing license issued by NCK.
- Certifications:
- A valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience:
- A minimum of one year of clinical internship experience in a recognized healthcare facility.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly in Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
- Ability to document patient records accurately and efficiently using electronic medical systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and committed to continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse at Equity Afia Nairobi, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Assisting in clinical procedures, administering medications, and monitoring patient progress.
- Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient records using HMIS platforms.
- Participating in health education and promotion activities within the community.
- Collaborating with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment in compliance with infection prevention and control guidelines.
- Responding to emergency situations with appropriate clinical interventions.
- Upholding patient confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of care delivery.
