Registered Clinical Officer
Muthale Mission Hospital (MMH) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Clinical Officer to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive clinical services in both the outpatient and inpatient departments while upholding the hospital’s commitment to high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
Role Summary of Registered Clinical Officer
The Registered Clinical Officer will be responsible for delivering clinical services, supporting emergency care operations, participating in ward activities, and ensuring the highest standards of medical practice in alignment with MMH policies and Ministry of Health guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of Registered Clinical Officer
- Take detailed patient histories, perform physical examinations, diagnose, and treat common illnesses in the outpatient department.
- Collaborate with the medical team to manage patients requiring emergency or urgent medical care.
- Refer or admit patients appropriately for specialized care or hospitalization.
- Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary patient care meetings.
- Review treatment sheets, prescriptions, and patient charts to ensure safe and appropriate care.
- Participate in community health programs in collaboration with other healthcare workers.
- Conduct health education sessions on preventive and promotive healthcare.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and uphold professional conduct at all times.
- Keep accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient records in line with MoH standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the departmental head or hospital management.
Qualifications and Key Competencies
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a busy hospital setting.
- Valid Certificate of Registration and Practicing License from the Clinical Officers’ Council.
- Proficient computer skills, including basic EMR use.
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
