The Clinical Officer will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care through accurate diagnosis and treatment, implementing preventive healthcare measures, managing both common medical and surgical conditions, participating actively in public health programs, and maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and ethical healthcare standards.


Key Responsibilities of Clinical Officer Job Equity Afia

As a Clinical Officer, you will:

  • Conduct thorough patient examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for various medical conditions
  • Provide preventive care services and health education to patients and communities
  • Manage common medical and surgical conditions with clinical expertise
  • Perform minor surgical procedures within your scope of practice
  • Participate in public health initiatives and community outreach programs

Required Academic Qualifications for Clinical Officer Job Equity Afia

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution
  • Valid registration with the Clinical Officers Council
  • Current practicing license – must be valid and in good standing
  • Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) – mandatory
  • Certificate in Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – mandatory

Professional Experience Required

  • Minimum of One (1) year post-internship experience in either a public or private hospital setting
  • Over One (1) year of working experience in a busy health facility (highly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in non-communicable diseases (NCD) management – this is a key requirement
  • Track record of working effectively in high-volume healthcare environments
